Just a short boat ride from Carriacou will bring you into one of the few pristine ecosystems in the region. This special and protected area which covers hundreds of acres is sheltered therefore your boat adventure will be smooth as you glide on the calm water. The mangrove is vibrant with colour and teeming with life as it is a nursery for many species of fish. You may also spot a small jellyfish or two as well as a variety of birds. One of the most interesting sights along the journey is the oysters growing on the roots of the mangrove, a rare phenomenon in this region. Guided boat tours are available to this protected area.
