Stacey Liburd, Newly Appointed CEO of the Grenada Tourism Authority, Initiates Strategic Engagements with Key Stakeholders in Canada and the United States

St. George, Grenada – July 31, 2025 – Stacey Liburd, the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA), recently completed official visits to two of Grenada’s most significant source markets: Canada and the United States.

From July 13–22, Liburd led a GTA delegation through Toronto and New York City, joined by Mr. Randall Dolland, Chairman and Ms. Tornia Charles, Director of Sales & Marketing. The team met with airline executives, leading travel media, tourism stakeholders, and travel advisors to strengthen relationships, share Grenada’s evolving tourism story, and explore future collaboration. These visits build on recent on-island engagements and reflect the GTA’s broader strategy to position Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique as premier destinations rooted in culture, sustainability, and genuine authenticity.

In Toronto, the delegation, including Mr. Sekou Stroude, Director of Sales, Canada, met with senior airline partners and conducted a full day of one-on-one media interviews to share destination updates. That evening, a cultural media dinner at Vantage Venues offered guests a taste of Grenada through vibrant cuisine and live steel pan music. The team also hosted two travel advisor events at The Boulevard Club in Toronto and EventMrkt in Newmarket, featuring destination presentations by Mr. Stroude. Representatives from Air Canada, Sunwing, Sandals, and Royalton joined the events and generously provided prizes. Chairman Dolland and CEO Liburd concluded both events by awarding grand prize getaways courtesy of Six Senses La Sagesse and Silversands Grenada, with airfare provided by the GTA.

In New York City the delegation, which also included Mrs. Christine Noel-Horsford, Director of Sales, USA; and Mr. Emil Edwards and Mr. Nicholas MacLeish, Sales Managers, conducted a full slate of media interviews and met with staff of the Grenada Mission and Consulate, including Ambassador Ingrid Jackson, Permanent Representative of Grenada to the United Nations and Consul General Michael Brizan. That evening, a media dinner at Le Jardinier brought together leading travel and multicultural journalists for a conversation around Grenada’s tourism strategy under CEO Liburd’s leadership. The visit concluded with a Travel Advisors’ Dinner at The Capital Grille on Park Avenue, attended by top advisors, ASTA executives, resort partners including Sandals, Calabash, Royalton, Six Senses La Sagesse, and members of the Grenada Mission and Consulate. CEO Liburd emphasized the pivotal role advisors play in shaping travel to Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique, while Grenada Tourism Authority and stakeholder partners provided updates, live entertainment, and prize giveaways rounded out the evening.

CEO Liburd continued to the United Kingdom for additional meetings before returning to Grenada. Her North American tour marks the next phase in the GTA’s global engagement strategy and continued commitment to elevating the destination’s visibility and impact abroad.
