The purpose of Quality Assurance is to implement policies and procedures that limit the introduction of variation and error into service delivery. Standards and requirements must be set and data collected and evaluated to “assure” that the expected results are being produced. Legal Requirements

No person shall operate any tourist accommodation or tourism enterprise unless that person first applies for and obtains a licence issued in accordance with the regulations.  Licences are required to operate the following/ as the following:

• Accommodation
  • Hotels, Apartments, Guest Houses, Cottages, Villas or any other premises or place where accommodation is provided for tourist for reward and is registered with the Authority for that purpose;
• Tour Operators
• Taxi Drivers
• Tourist Guides
• Car Rental Services
• Water Sports Operators
• Tourist Sites/Attractions
• Restaurants
• Tourist Vendors

Licensing

Steps for Obtaining a Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) Licence:

1. Submission of completed application form and required documents
2. Inspection of facility/motor vehicle
3. Review/processing of application
4. Payment of applicable licence fee, if approved
5. Collection of Tourism Licence

Certification

Steps for Obtaining Certification

1. Pre-Assessment of property
   1. Grenada Tourism Authority Quality Assurance Department
2. Non-Conformance Report generated
3. Audit Team Inspection
   1. Ministry of Tourism
   2. Grenada Bureau of Standards
   3. Ministry of Health
   4. Ministry of Works – Physical Planning Unit
   5. Royal Grenada Police Force – Fire Department
   6. Grenada Tourism Authority – Quality Assurance Department
4. Compilation of Audit Team Report
5. Payment of applicable fee, if approved
6. Certification granted
7. Once licensed, your tourism business can be marketed on the puregrenada.com website. A business overview paragraph, three photos and contact information will be needed for the website listing.
