Five acres of lush tropical garden and a 100 yr old family home set on a hill overlooking the St. Georges valley and Caribbean sea.
Sunnyside Garden is an award winning tropical garden featured on the UK’s Channel 4 series “Gardens of the Caribbean” and in the Colour supplement of the UK’s Sunday Telegraph. Located just east of the Capital St Georges, on a hill overlooking the dramatic Mt. Parnassus valley with the Caribbean Sea to the West and the Atlantic Ocean to the South, it represents the fruit of the labours of Jean and Robin Renwick. The garden surrounds the 100 year old Renwick family home, itself faithfully restored following its near destruction during Hurricane Ivan in 2004.
Jean & Robin took over the family home in the 70s and bit by bit have transformed the once classical garden style into a glorious and colourful mix of local and regional tropical plants, fruits and spices.
Not to be left out are two ponds stocked with Koi carp and Tilapia (the latter providing the family with a steady source of protein), a large colony of Red footed Tortoise, Ground and tree lizards and and an adopted family of South American wild parrots.
The garden is now managed by Jean and Robin’s eldest son Randy and his wife Rhonda and continues to grow as one of Grenada’s diverse and accessible attractions.
